Justice & Peace Advent Appeal

Our focus in Advent 2015 was on homelessness and the plight of the destitute in our towns and cities. On 5-6 December, we therefore welcomed to our Parish Fr Gabriel of the Franciscans of the Renewal, who are based at St Pio Priory, Bradford, where they provide support for the homeless in their local community. Recently, members of the St Stephen's Justice and Peace Group visited them and saw what a vital service they provide. At the end of each Mass the Advent Appeal was introduced and Fr Gabriel asked for our support for the work done by the Friars.

On Sunday 6 December Fr Gabriel enjoyed lunch in the Easter Room, hosted by Myrna and Garo Panikian, joined by members of the Justice and Peace Group and other parishioners and friends.

Many thanks for the very generous response to Fr Gabriel's appeal. The collection raised £1691.60.
